Diagnostic imaging examinations in a private clinic
In the heart of Chelsea, just minutes from South Kensington and Knightsbridge, Kensington International Clinic operates a private ultrasound imaging service for adult patients seeking timely access to a medical imaging examination, with or without a GP referral letter. The service is led by a consultant radiologist registered on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council, supported by a sonographer certified by the Fetal Medicine Foundation.
This combined expertise allows us to address specific diagnostic questions in a premium clinical setting.
When should you have a diagnostic ultrasound?
Ultrasound is one of the most versatile medical imaging examinations available. Non-irradiating, painless and free of side effects, it is requested in a wide range of clinical situations, either as a first-line investigation or alongside other imaging.
Among the most common indications:
- Unexplained abdominal or pelvic pain: examination of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, bladder or pelvic structures.
- Palpable mass or nodule: characterisation of a cervical, breast, abdominal, scrotal or soft tissue mass (cyst, lipoma, lymph node, lump or bump).
- Abnormal blood results: targeted investigation following blood tests suggestive of hepatic, renal or thyroid involvement.
- Monitoring of a known condition: follow-up of a thyroid nodule, gallstones, fatty liver disease, or an abdominal wall hernia.
- Suspected vascular pathology: venous assessment in cases of suspected thrombosis, arterial assessment, carotid Doppler.
- Pre-operative work-up or second opinion: confirmation of a clinical indication, imaging review before treatment decision.
- Comprehensive imaging assessment: our Women health and Men health packages bring together the most relevant examinations in a single appointment.
