The Practitioners
who oversee
your blood tests
Blood draw appointments at Kensington International Clinic are supervised by our team of experienced GPs, available for consultation Monday to Friday.
How to book a blood test online
at our London Clinic ?
The process is straightforward, from booking to results.
Choose your slot directly via our online booking platform, or call our reception team. If you have a prescription or a specific list of tests, send it to us in advance at contact@lamaisonmedicale.co.uk, we will prepare your file before you arrive.
If your tests require fasting, we will confirm the instructions at the time of booking. For most fasting tests: a light dinner the evening before, no breakfast on the morning of your appointment, and stay well hydrated, still water is fine, as is black tea or black coffee without milk or sugar.
Our clinical assistant carries out the blood draw on site, taking a small sample from a vein in your arm. The draw itself takes under ten minutes. Urine sample facilities are available on site where required.
Results are sent to your email address as soon as they are ready, with reference ranges provided alongside each value. If a medical follow-up is needed, one of our practitioners will contact you directly.
Fasting Blood Test: What you need to know
Several markers including glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides and HbA1c require fasting beforehand to produce accurate readings. If your test panel includes any of these, we will flag this at the time of booking.
For a fasting blood test, we recommend:
- A light dinner the evening before your appointment
- No breakfast if your appointment is in the morning
- No food for at least six hours before your appointment if you are coming in the afternoon
- Staying hydrated, water is encouraged throughout; plain black tea or coffee without milk or sugar is also fine
If you are unsure whether your specific tests require fasting, email us your prescription or test list at contact@lamaisonmedicale.co.uk before your visit. We will confirm exactly what preparation is needed.
How long do
blood test results take?
How long do blood test results take at Kensington Clinic ?
The majority of routine blood test results are available within 24 to 48 hours of your appointment. More complex panels or specialist markers may require slightly longer.
How will I receive my results ?
Results are sent directly to your email address as soon as they are ready, accompanied by reference ranges for each marker. They are clearly formatted and do not require medical interpretation for standard values.
Will a doctor contact me about my results?
If your results require clinical attention, one of our GPs will reach out within one working day of receiving them. We do not leave concerning results without follow-up.
Can I get same-day results ?
For certain point-of-care tests carried out on site, same-day results may be available. Please contact us in advance to confirm whether this applies to your specific test.
