Dr Emily Kara is a UK-trained General Practitioner who graduated from the University of Oxford in 2004. She became a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) in 2014 while working in a busy GP practice in Notting Hill, London.
In 2014, Dr Kara moved to Asia, where she provided medical care to English- and French-speaking expatriate communities in Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore. She returned to London with her family in July 2025 to continue her clinical career.
Dr Kara has extensive experience in general and family medicine, treating patients of all ages. Her particular interests include women’s health, contraception, family planning, menopause, children’s health and developmental assessments.
She also supports patients with chronic conditions such as hypothyroidism, type 2 diabetes and asthma, as well as mental health concerns including anxiety and depression. Her practice also covers sexual health, travel health, acute illnesses and minor injuries.
Dr Kara strongly believes in continuity of care and takes the time to understand each patient’s individual circumstances. Her approach is holistic, attentive and family-centred, with a strong emphasis on prevention and appropriate evidence-based screening.
