Our team brings together practitioners trained in the leading French and British institutions, with consultations available in English, French, Mandarin and Malay depending on the practitioner.

dermatologists in London

Three dermatologists and dermatological surgeons practise at Kensington International Clinic, each with a complementary area of excellence.

Surgical dermatology: skin lesion removal

Surgical dermatology covers the full range of procedures for removing benign or suspicious skin lesions, performed in-clinic by our dermatologists. Most interventions take place under local anaesthetic, on an outpatient basis, with a return to normal activities the same day or within 24 to 48 hours.

Tissue samples can be sent for histological analysis where diagnosis requires it.

Mole removal

The most frequently requested procedure in private dermatology, mole removal may be motivated by a medical indication (a suspicious lesion, recent evolution, atypical appearance on dermoscopy) or by cosmetic concern.

Two techniques are available depending on the nature of the naevus: surgical excision with fine sutures and systematic histological analysis (healing typically within 7 to 10 days), or tangential shave excision for superficial lesions.

All moles removed on a medical indication undergo histological analysis to rule out melanoma definitively.

Cyst removal

We treat the full range of benign skin cysts: sebaceous cysts, epidermoid cysts, pilar cysts, ganglion cysts and eyelid cysts (chalazia).

For sebaceous, epidermoid and pilar cysts, a small incision allows the cyst sac to be removed intact, a condition essential to prevent recurrence, in 15 to 30 minutes under local anaesthetic.

An eyelid cyst (chalazion) is treated through a discreet internal incision that does not affect vision; patients return to normal activities within 24 to 48 hours.

Skin tag removal

Soft, benign skin growths commonly found on the neck, underarms, eyelids or under the breasts, skin tags are removed by simple excision, cauterisation or cryotherapy.

No sutures are required, healing takes less than a week, and multiple lesions can be treated in a single session.

Lipoma removal

A benign tumour of the subcutaneous fatty tissue, a lipoma is removed through a small, discreet incision under local anaesthetic. It is bluntly dissected and extracted in a single piece, leaving a fine scar with a negligible risk of recurrence when the excision is complete.

Keloid scar removal

Keloid scars require a combined approach to minimise the risk of recurrence. Our protocol combines surgical excision with intra-lesional corticosteroid injections and, in certain cases, post-operative radiotherapy.

Compression dressings and silicone gel are recommended in the weeks following the procedure to optimise the cosmetic result.

Other skin lesion removal

We also treat dermatofibromas (punch or elliptical excision), seborrhoeic keratoses (curettage, cryotherapy or ablative laser), cherry angiomas (pulsed-dye laser, KTP or electrocautery), warts and genital warts (cryotherapy, topical acids, electrosurgery or CO₂ laser), and split earlobe repair with layered suturing and re-piercing possible after three months.

Laser skin treatments : the K-Laser Blue Derma

Our clinic is equipped with the K-Laser Blue Derma, a latest-generation laser dedicated to medical and aesthetic dermatology. This technology treats vascular, pigmentary and inflammatory skin conditions without surgery, with progressive results and near-immediate recovery.

A 45-minute preliminary consultation allows your dermatologist to assess your skin and recommend a personalised treatment plan.

Laser treatment for rosacea

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition characterised by persistent facial redness and vascular flushing. The K-Laser precisely targets the dilated blood vessels responsible for the redness, without affecting the surrounding skin.

Several 45-minute sessions are recommended for lasting results.

From £150 per session.

Hyperpigmentation laser treatment and brown spots

Sun spots, age spots, melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation respond well to the K-Laser, which fragments melanin pigments that are then cleared naturally by the skin.

Small area: from £90 per session (£230 for 3 sessions).

Full face: from £300 per session (£840 for 3 sessions).

Facial thread veins and telangiectasia laser treatment

Telangiectasia and thread veins on the face (around the nose, cheeks and chin) are treated by targeted laser pulses: the vessel is coagulated internally and gradually resorbed by the body.

1 session from £150, 3 sessions from £400.

Stretch mark removal laser treatment

The K-Laser stimulates deep collagen production to progressively fade stretch marks, whether red (recent) or white (mature).

Small area: from £180 per session (£480 for 3 sessions).

Large area: from £250 per session (£690 for 3 sessions).

Cosmetic dermatology: scar revision and skin rejuvenation

Cosmetic dermatology is a natural extension of our work on skin lesions and pathologies. Our dermatologists and our plastic surgeon intervene across three complementary areas.

Scar removal laser treatment

Post-surgical, post-traumatic and post-acne scars can be improved through a combination of techniques: fractional laser to stimulate dermal remodelling, intra-lesional injections for hypertrophic scars, or surgical revision with cosmetic suturing.

Dr Sultan Hussein is specifically trained in scar revision.

Skin rejuvenation

Facial skin rejuvenation with the K-Laser improves skin texture, grain and tone without surgery. The laser stimulates deep neo-collagenesis, with progressive results visible after several sessions.

From £230 per session.

Laser tattoo removal

Laser tattoo removal works by fragmenting pigment particles, which are then cleared by the immune system between sessions. Several sessions spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart are required, depending on tattoo size, ink depth and colour.

Eye protection and topical anaesthetic ensure safety and comfort during each session.

What to expect during your dermatology procedure ?

Your dermatology procedure at KIC follows a three-step pathway.

1. Initial consultation and diagnosis

our dermatologist examines the lesion visually and, where necessary, with digital dermoscopy. They assess whether the lesion is benign or suspicious, discuss the available options with you, and where histological analysis is warranted, a skin biopsy can be performed during the session.

2. The procedure itself

Depending on the nature of the lesion, the procedure is performed immediately during consultation (skin tags, small cysts, cherry angioma) or scheduled for a second visit (lipomas, keloids, extensive excisions), always under local anaesthetic. Tissue samples are sent to our trusted pathology partners, with results available within 7 to 10 days.

3. Post-operative follow-up

A follow-up appointment is systematically scheduled 7 to 14 days after the procedure to check healing, remove sutures if needed, and discuss histological results. You leave with a written aftercare plan and a direct contact point for any interim questions.

FAQ

How much does mole removal cost in London?

The cost depends on the size of the lesion, its location and whether histological analysis is required. At Kensington International Clinic, an initial consultation allows you to receive a precise, personalised quote that includes the procedure itself, local anaesthetic, post-operative dressing and any histological analysis.

No

The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic, which renders the area completely insensitive during the intervention. Mild sensitivity may persist for 24 to 48 hours afterwards and is easily managed with standard pain relief.

Yes in the vast majority of cases.

The decision depends on the nature of the naevus (benign, suspicious, atypical), its location and your personal reasons. Your dermatologist assesses these factors during the initial consultation, and clinically suspicious lesions undergo excision with systematic histological analysis.

No.

This is a persistent misconception with no scientific grounding. On the contrary, removing a suspicious naevus is an act of melanoma prevention: the post-excision histological analysis allows any malignant transformation to be identified at an early stage.

Skin tags are removed through simple excision, cauterisation or cryotherapy during consultation.

The procedure takes just a few minutes per lesion, requires no sutures, heals quickly, and multiple skin tags can be treated in a single session.

Any incision leaves a scar, but modern surgical technique allows for fine, discreet scars.

Our dermatologists use fine sutures, absorbable where possible, and align the scar along the natural lines of the skin. A post-operative care protocol is systematically provided.
