Surgical dermatology covers the full range of procedures for removing benign or suspicious skin lesions, performed in-clinic by our dermatologists. The most frequently requested procedure in private dermatology, mole removal may be motivated by a medical indication (a suspicious lesion, recent evolution, atypical appearance on dermoscopy) or by cosmetic concern.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Two techniques are available depending on the nature of the naevus: surgical excision with fine sutures and systematic histological analysis (healing typically within 7 to 10 days), or tangential shave excision for superficial lesions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

For sebaceous, epidermoid and pilar cysts, a small incision allows the cyst sac to be removed intact, a condition essential to prevent recurrence, in 15 to 30 minutes under local anaesthetic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
